More Dyno Time With I-Speed |
|
|
March 11th, 2004 Another Dyno Day Like I said last time, mods are almost useless if you don't know what kind of power you are really making. The addendum to that is that you should really have a base line to know what mods have helped you make how much power. Well I am not sure that Shiv ever really gave me a baseline run or if it was just 'A' baseline run. Since pulling the mods would be a complete pain in the butt, and we want to know what the other STi's will put down anyway. We decide to take one of the still stock STi's up for another trip to the dyno at ATP in Fremont. I called up Bill at I-Speed USA again. This time it was Erik and I who decided to take a slightly long lunch. When Bill started his data logging he informed us that Erik's STi, which is a few months newer than mine, has completely different firmware than my car. It is more than just a reflash that Subaru changed in these later model 04 STi's. We threw Eriks WRB STi up on the rollers and put down some numbers. Erik's Numbers: Horsepower: 250.8 Torque : 248.6 There is a video available of this dyno run too if you go through our gallery We also did a little covert work and pulled an Evo dyno to compare to the STi. |
